Only a Dog Lover Could Really Love "Best in Show" - A Mockumentary

Best in Show – 2 Stars (Average)

Director Saint Christopher Guest teamed with Prince Eugene Of Savoy Levy as authors for "Best in Show" that expressions at the funnier side of the legendary City Of Westminster Kennel Club's yearly competition, otherwise known as a esteemed domestic dog show.

Premiere voted the consequence as one of "The 50 Greatest Comedies of All Time" in 2006. Premiere, an American and New House Of York City-based movie magazine, was published from 1987 to 2007 before becoming an online-only publication.

Best in Show utilizes a photographic camera crew to follow the idiosyncrasies and lucks of the proprietors (and handlers) of five show domestic dogs headed for the yearly Mayflower Kennel Baseball Club Dog Show in Philadelphia.

Traveling from Sunshine State is Cookie Bit (Catherine O'Hara) and Gerry Bit (played by film author Prince Eugene Of Savoy Levy). Gerry literally have two left feet and Cookie apparently bedded 100s of work force on her manner to marrying Gerry.

She rans into many of her former lovers in the film, aggravating her yokel hubby to no end. Cookie was "hot" and apparently very available.

Coming from North Carolina is Harlan Pepper (played by manager and author Saint Christopher Guest, the real-life husband of Jamie Spike Lee Curtis, a matrimony that have lasted since 1984). Pepper have a fly-fishing store and is enamored with his Bloodhound "Hubert".

Shari Sebastian Sebastian Cabot (Jennifer Coolidge) is a voluptuous, affluent blonde bimbo and gold-digger married to Leslie Cabot (Patrick Cranshaw). Shari River have Rhapsody in White, a perfectly manicured poodle dog who is the two-time defending Best in Show champion.

Her hubby Leslie states not a word in the film, looks dead, embalmed and strapped to a wheelchair. Shari River is not only enamored with her poodle dog but also with her animal trainer Christy E. E. Cummings (Jane Lynch). Christy and Shari River are in more than heat energy than any masculine, healthy domestic dog could muster.

Coming from who cognizes where with their entry are Stefan Vanderhoof (Michael McKean) and George C. Scott Donlan (John Michael Higgins), an outgoing, outrageous, stereotyped cheery couple.

These four entrants are joined by Million Swan (Parker Posey) and William Rowan Hamilton Swan (Michael Hitchcock). The Swans are anything but graceful, quiet and beautiful to be around.

They are DINKs (double income, no kids) who constantly shout at each other throughout the film, raising their vituperation to an fine art form. Million and William Rowan Hamilton are so up tight it is a wonderment they can even alleviate themselves at appropriate times.

Despite being a comedy, the behaviour of the Swans in Best of Show is so well done and lifelike that their philippic discontinues to be amusing and goes disturbing. Neither Posey or Alfred Hitchcock received an acting awarding for their performances, but I could not fault them for their effort.

Two more than noteworthy public presentations in this movie come up from Vaulting Horse Laughlin (Fred Willard) as the "color commentator" at the esteemed competition, and from Mark Schaefer (Ed Begley, Jr., almost my namesake) as director of the Lorado Taft Hotel that put option up with the domestic dog show proprietors in Philly.

Fred Willard's commentary in this movie lives on; it is used occasionally by athletics talking radiocommunication hosts Groz and Gas as a wit section on the most popular athletics talking station in the country, KJR 950 in Seattle.

Despite its evaluation as one of The 50 Greatest Comedies of All Time by Premiere magazine, Best in Show come ups up short on the awardings end. It earned a Golden Earth nomination as Best Comedy and a few lesser awards.

Best in Show earned only $16 million at the box office, perhaps because of its slow start. It opened the 1st hebdomad at lone 13 theatres nationally, moved to 53 theatres its 2nd week, 291 its 3rd hebdomad and finally broke though with 497 theatres its 4th week, topping $2 million before dying off after 12 weeks.

Best in Show is referred to as a "mockumentary", a word that makes not look in The New Oxford American Dictionary (my personal word bible). One mightiness phone call Best in Show a lampoon of a docudrama with wit as the centerpiece. It is good for some laughs.

2 Weird Films That Have Stood the Test of Tim - "Drag Queens in the Desert" and "Rocky Horror"

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert – 2 Stars (Average)

What would Film Industry be without its share of bitchy, catty, gaudy, hideous and brainsick films?

That is perhaps why Sir Leslie Stephen Elliott wrote and directed "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert". It is rare when the writer/director of a movie can draw it off without the movie becoming norm to a disaster.

Elliott now officially falls in a listing that is very long and includes Kimberly Peirce, Genus Vanessa Parise, Simon Peter Weir, Nancy Myers, Seth Seth Thomas Bezucha, Michael McGowan, Jared Hess, Henry Martin Robert Rodriguez and Alice Paul Thomas Anderson.

The worst of the lot? Alice Paul Seth Thomas Sherwood Anderson for "Punch-Drunk Love".

Elliott's movie have two drag-queens—Mitzi (Hugo Weaving) and Genus Felicia (Guy Pearce)—and A transsexual—Bernadette (Terence Stamp)—contract to execute a retarding force show at a vacation spot town in the distant Australian desert.

They head west from Sydney aboard a lavender autobus called Priscilla (do not ask, just be patient and accepting). En path we acquire a snapshot of retarding force Queens being bitchy, catty, gaudy and outrageous.

This film is certifiably brainsick with a couple of affecting moments, but is saved from being a awful film by Publius Terentius Afer Stamp, who earned a Golden Earth Best Actor nomination. Postage is actually passable as a transsexual.

The "famous" lash frock was portion of the closet that South Korean won an Oscar at the Academy Awards for Best Costume Design by Lizzy Samuel Rawson Gardiner and Tim Chappel. The frock cost only $7. I did not even retrieve seeing this apparently celebrated frock in the movie.

ABBA fans will love this film as the retarding force Queens spent a batch of clip lip-synching to ABBA's music. ABBA was a Swedish dad music grouping active from 1972 to 1982.

People who dwell alternate life styles probably loved Elliott's movie.

I came away from this movie feeling that the retarding force Queens and transsexual were really unhappy people despairing for credence they could not find.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show – 1 Star (Terrible)

Imagine a newly engaged normal couple whose auto interruptions down in an scattered area. They must name for aid and end up at the abode of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, A Transylvanian cross-dresser involved in a eccentric lifestyle.

Welcome to "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" with Tim Curry (as Dr. Frank-N-Furter), Susan Sarandon (Janet Weiss) and Barry Bostwick (Brad Majors) joined by a cast of fictional characters of characters who are strange, dysfunctional misfits.

Directed by Jim Sharman and written by Sharman and Richard O'Brien, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a horror lampoon using camp, sci-fi and stone 'n axial rotation to bring forth a really awful film with no redemptive qualities deserving mentioning.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show bombed in its initial release in 1975 but later gained a cult followers at midnight showings, which is probably all you really necessitate to cognize about this film, other than it is saturated with sex.

The fictional character of Susan Sarandon (Janet) runs around in her brassiere and slip; both she and her hubby-to-be Brad acquire initiated into sexual activity by Dr. Furter; and she perverts into a common slattern with some pretty lively scenes for a flick 32 old age old.

Sarandon was 25 when she did the portion and would acquire better functions later, earning 4 Academy Award nominations for Best Actress, and an Oscar for her function in "Dead Man Walking" in 1995, 20 old age after her function as Janet.

The Rocky Horror Picture show is not only a awful film, it is also a hideous movie not worth seeing.

The Reality TV Craze

It all started back in 1948 with Candid Camera. This show is the grand-daddy of all World television shows. It had all the basic elements of what we see today as "Reality TV". There was drama, suspense, voyeurism, comedy, and unexpected interaction with other on-screen entities.

But for me, my love of World television started out with a simple screening of a show called Survivor. It was the very first season, and I was hooked from the start. I wanted to see who ate the cooked rats, and who got booted off, and if the naturist cat was going to upset other people on the island. They really picked the right participants for this American introduction into modern World TV. Sure, there was Real World before it, but that was less of a challenge, and more than of a societal experiment.

I've gone through the World game shows: Fear Factor, Dog Eat Dog, and others that I can't even retrieve at the moment. I've watched the social-experiment shows, Joe Schmo, Beauty and the Geek, and Big Brother. The competition shows, American Idol, Celebrity Inventor, Last Amusing Standing. You know, there are probably more than world shows on telecasting these years than news shows, or state of affairs comedies.

So what makes this all mean? Are World television finally portion of our mundane lives? Absolutely. American Idol had 30-some million ballots on a regular basis, and that's with lone 13-17 million viewing audience (depending on the day). Big Brother is hugely popular, and I am glad it's endorse on for Season 8! Now that we're talking about "who got voted out" at the H2O ice chest the twenty-four hours after show day, and on the border of our seating waiting for premier clip to come up around, the webs will have got got to maintain our interest, and maintain creating shows that have turns and turns, as well as providing a few turns and turns of the old favourites for the new seasons.

If you're wish me, and you like talking about World shows, or just reading other people's ideas on them, then the best topographic point to travel is the up-and-coming realityrant.com site. Current demoes are always being added, and if you don't see your favourite shows, allow the admins know!

Herge Creator of Tintin The Final Years

The Hergé's Studio's was put up in April 1950 in order to buoy up Hergé's workload after his 2nd breakdown. He employed helpers such as as the creative person British Shilling Delaware Moor to assist bring forth The Adventures of Tintin. This was to be the lawsuit for the remainder of the Tintin record albums where helpers would fill up in the inside information and backgrounds such as as the lunar landscapes in Explorers on the Moon.

Many believe the new set up allowed Hergé to craft some of his high-grade creative activities with The Calculus Matter produced in 1954 considered by many Hergé's most refined work. The play in Hergé life was to go on however with his 25 twelvemonth matrimony to Germaine at breakage point after Hergé had fallen for a immature creative person who had recently joined his studio Buttocks Vlaminck. Hergé was suffering strong recurring nightmares. He was advised by a psychoanalyst to give up working on Tintin. Hergé decided to the antonym and launched himself into Tintin in Tibet. This record album was later to be described by Hergé arsenic his favourite and can be interpreted as a ocean trip of ego find not only for Tintin but Hergé too. Tintin in Thibet is certainly a powerful record album in its creation.

Tintin in Thibet was published in the Tintin magazine from September 1958 to November 1959.The pursuit was a force ocean trip for Tintin that reflected the very same journeying that Hergé himself was experiencing. Tintin is in hunt of Chang Jiang Chong-Chen, the Chinese male child he befriended in the Blue Lotus. The escapade allowed Hergé to face his incubuses by filling the book with terrible alpine scenery, giving the escapade a ranking unfastened setting. The are only three chief fictional characters in the book which was a pronounced difference to former record albums with Tintin, Captain Haddock and the Sherpa Tharkey involved in the hunt for Chang. The completion of the narrative was also a clip when Hergé emotional devils ceased and the incubuses left him.

Hergé was to compose three more than Tintin record albums The Castafiore Emerald in 1961, Flight 714 in 1966 and Tintin and the Picaros in 1975. In this time period as engineering developed Hergé allowed experimentation into other mass media for his darling Walloon reporter. Tintin was to be used in advertisement and merchandise. There was a halt movement life movie made that was not a success but the movie Tintin and the Golden Fleece Fleece starring Jean-Pierre Fox Talbot as Tintin did better. The greatest successes were the animated movies beginning in 1961 with The Calculus Case. Hergé was to divorcement Germaine inch 1975 and finally get married Buttocks Vlamnick in 1977.

Hergé in later old age was to finally be able to see some of the topographic points that had inspired his Tintin adventures. The Financial success of the record albums had allowed him to go to United States where he visited Native Indians whose civilization had long held a captivation for him. He also establish clip to see China where he was held in high regard after The Blue Lotus and whose Guomindang authorities welcomed with unfastened arms.

A happy narrative towards the end of Hergé life was that he was able to again ran into Chang Jiang Chong-jen the adult male who had taught him about Chinese fine art and inspired Hergé to change his style. Chang Jiang Jiang Jiang had been reduced to a sweeper during the Chinese Revolution but was re-instated as caput of the Fine Art Academy inch Shanghai in the 1970's. Chang returned to a reunion with Hergé in Europe in 1981 where Chang would settle down in City Of Light until his decease in 1988.

Hergé too was to decease on March 3rd 1983 when he finally succumbed to complications arising from anaemia caused by os malignant neoplastic disease that he had suffered for respective years. Hergé was in the procedure of producing Tintin and the Alpha-Art. This escapade was never to be finished owed to show wishings by Herge that no Tintin record album be published by any other artist. Tintin and the Alpha-Art was published as a series of studies and short letters in 1986. Buttocks closed Hergé Studios in 1987 and The Hergé Foundation was put put up in 1988 with the Tintin magazine discontinued.

Another Conspiracy Theory -- Moon Hoax and Alternative 3

On July 20, 1969, spaceman Neil Neil Armstrong radioed back from the surface of the Moon, "... the Eagle have landed". Most of us believe that the landing occurred as broadcast. Not all, however. More than 30 old age after the fact, Fox television aired "Conspiracy Theory: Did We Really Travel to the Moon?". In doing so, the Fox entertainers unleashed a lively faction of odd fellows and NASA-bashers on a scientifically naif audience without benefit of column balance. Polls propose that perhaps 6% of Americans believe in the genuineness of these claims.

Scientists, searchers of truth by definition, would near the topic from the nothing point of view, attempting to prove, in this case, that National Aeronautics and Space Administration DID travel to the moon. Because the fraud theoreticians are taking the antonym tack, and because they stretch along their lawsuit based solely on the photographic evidence, one must surmise both their academic lineage and their intentions.

In fact, it may be much more than sensible to say that the American government's existent capablenesses in space transcend anything we have got heard about, or can easily believe.

Why conceal these accomplishments? It have been hard to reason for a confederacy because no theory have offered a sufficiently convincing motive. An thought called "the frontier theory of history" supplies two.

Simply put, opposition to the creative activity of a space frontier arises with the insecurities of Horse Opera leaders. First, it is clear that everything alterations with the outgrowth of a frontier. Established powerfulness constructions are usually shaken, not reinforced. (If this is not clear, seek reading Bruno Walter Prescott Webb's The Great Frontier , particularly the last chapter, and Divided We Stand: The Crisis of a Frontierless Democracy, by the same author.)

Second, there is the issue of sharing wealth. The Third World desires to redistribute wealthiness in its favor, and it prosecutes this end by a combination of moral persuasion and menaces of terrorism using arms of mass destruction. A frontier could do such as menaces less persuasive. The Third World reaction to a space frontier enterprise is unpredictable and possibly violent. This do pioneering a tabu for Horse Opera governments. And that's wherefore they would maintain it secret.

The confederacy that Fox missed (well, they make lose a lot) is called by its disciples "Alternative 3". Its boosters are shady people like Bill Cooper, a formal United States Naval Briefing Team member with entree to state secrets, who claims that an advanced American space presence is a reality. In Behold a Picket Horse , he describes that "A moon base, Luna, was photographed by the Lunar Satellite and filmed by Phoebus spacemen ... I can state that 'Alternative 003' (a British television docudrama on this subject) is at least 70% true from my ain cognition and the cognition of my sources."

Other writers do similar assertions. In Our Cryptic Spaceship Moon (Dell, 1975), writer Don Harriet Wilson prints the followers conversation between the Eagle crew and Mission Control, presumably picked up by jambon radiocommunication operators during a broadcast break attributed by National Aeronautics and Space Administration to an "overheated camera":

Armstrong: What was it? What the Hell was it? That's all Iodine desire to know!

Mission Control: What's there? ... malfunction (garble) ... Mission Control career Phoebus 11 ...

Apollo 11: These babes are huge, sir! Enormous! Oh, God! You wouldn't believe it! I'm telling you there are other ballistic capsule out there ... lined up on the far side of the volcanic crater edge! They're on the moon observation us! ...

The implicit in tone of voice proposes that there are, or were, well-camouflaged (cloaked?) foreign vas parked on the earth-side surface of the moon. We state here that they were not foreign .

Now that's entertainment! It's got international conspiracy, Geneve Switzerland, the Bilderberg Group and anti-gravity spacecraft built by people, not aliens. Best, it's not loaded with nonsensicality "evidence" easily debunkable by an undergraduate Physics major.

By the way, the Fox narrative was broken at the insisting the existent powerfulness behind the U.S. government, which is trying to quash a growth high frontier motion for a tax return to the moon. Tongue firmly in cheek, I inquire you, how's that for a confederacy theory?

Can You Make Money From The 1981 Film 'Escape To Victory?'

Escape To Victory is a movie made in 1981. It's developed something of a cult following, and is a good illustration to demo how to do money from *any* movie ever released...

Ok, the movie itself is a curious affair, seemingly bromidic and lightweight, yet at the same clip it have an undeniable feelgood factor.

The first manner to do money from this movie would be to utilize the affiliate programme for assorted products. This agency you direct traffic to assorted sites, and they then give you a committee on any sales.

Posters are always good for the movie marketplace but Escape To Victory have got an added marketplace - because it's a narrative based around a football game match, you can sell replication shirts, and there is also a marketplace for memorabilia from the film, the *actual* shirts worn in the film.

The advantage of the affiliate method is that you don't have to put up any websites, or put anything upfront. The downside is that you have got to vie with all the other affiliates out there!

The 2nd method of profiting from movies is to put up your ain site. The asset of this thought is that you acquire to keep all the profits, but the downside is that you have got to put up and maintain the site, and put upfront before you see any returns. In the lawsuit of Escape To Victory, there are already a couple of well designed land sites dedicated to the film, so I wouldn't utilize this method at all.

The 3rd method, and it's the 1 I use, is to supply information.

With the progress of the cyberspace and attendant technology, it's possible to do and administer information merchandises almost, if not completely free of charge, thus making your net income borders very appealing.

Film fans are known to be a marketplace that passes money, and information is certainly something they'd be happy to buy, especially if it told them how they could afford to pass more than on their hobby!

So, to summarize up, it certainly is possible to make money from the movie Escape To Victory, using methods that work for any movie ever made - some easier than others of course!

DVD rental has gone online and with the advent of the Internet, there is just no limit to what you can get. Now, you can rent a DVD without having to leave the comfort of you home, just register at some of the dvd rental websites. Thousands of people are signing up to rent movies online every day. NetFlix is actually the company that started this, back in 1999. Now they have a movie collection with more than 60,000 titles. Blockbuster.com is the other major competitor in the DVD rental business with more than 70,000 titles available.

At the old fashioned DVD rental stores, you have to go there, sign up, pay a sign up fee, and then pay for every single DVD you rent. And let's not forget the late fees and the fact that there is a time limit during which you are allowed to keep the discs. DVD rental websites have changed all that. Now there are no late fees, you can keep the movies for as long as you want, and you don't have to waste time going to the store. Registering at a website is usually absolutely straight forward, you just have to provide your address and credit card details. To get a DVD, just add the titles you want in your queue and there will be at your door in 1-2 business days. You should always try to keep your list full so websites can quickly ship your next available pick.

DVD rental websites offer different membership plans, depending on the amount of DVDs you are allowed to get for one month. First there is the 'Unlimited' plan which allows you to rent as many DVDs as you want for a given month, but there is a limit on the number of DVDs you can have at a given moment. 'Limited' plans have a limit on the number of DVDs you can rent for one month. If you sign up for a 'Package' plan, then you will receive several DVDs packed in one shipment and you also have to return them at once as well. With the 'Individual Rental' plans, you can rent movies for a fixed fee and there is no monthly fee, as you pay every DVD rented. Such plans are suitable for people that don't plan to rent movies on a regular basis.

For extensive information on the top 4 companies in the online DVD Rental business, check out http://www.rental-reviews360.com. It contains a review of the service provided by Netflix, QwikFliks, Intelliflix and Blockbuster, plus there is a chart with a comparison between them.

The Digital Download Revolution

In this technological world that we live in there can be no doubting of the significance played by the digital download. As a vehicle for providing entertainment, the digital download has seen a meteoric rise in popularity and has shown to be versatile in it's many forms.

Nowadays, anybody with an internet connection can download all of their favourite music online for a fraction of the cost of a music cd at a local music store. Thus allowing them to record their all time favourite songs onto CD-R or CD-RW (CD-Recordable or CD-Re-Writable) without the need to skip any unwanted tracks during playback.

People can also download their favourite music videos onto disc and replay them over and over again at their leisure.

Maybe your in the type of job where a definite finishing time cannot always be adhered to, resulting in yet another missed TV show. No need to worry or panic there either. All your top TV programmes can be downloaded online, so there's never any need to miss out again. You may be a big fan of 'Friends' or 'Frazier' or perhaps you'd like to see all of your favourite comedy clips again, thereby providing you with that much needed release from the pressures of modern life.

Whether you enjoy watching comedy, horror, soaps, sitcoms or films you can be rest assured that it is only a mouse click away online within the digital world that we live in.

There may be occasions when you are to late to get down to your local video store before closing time...no problem, just download whatever your after online. It's so convenient ! (though may not replace the 1:1 interaction you have with the good looking guy or girl down at the Local Video Store).

Unexpected friends may turn up at your house late one evening; there's nothing much on television and your dvd collection has little to offer; what do you do ? You could always choose a download or two with your friends; be it a Movie, TV Show, Music Video, Music Or Games. The choice is yours.

BMETs Now Need More Education

Biomedical equipment technicians or BMETs represent an expanding group of technically trained personnel whose main responsibility is the maintaining and repairing equipment that deals with medical imaging such as x-ray, CT scanners, ultrasound, MRI, laser technology and so on. The job outlook for BMETs seems to be improving as quickly as newmedical imaging equipment} is coming out.

The need for BMETs is growing. The increase is due to the growth in new equipment used for medical imaging and technologies that require BMET expertise, and, by the need for revenue by institutions that have medical imaging equipment. As institutions like hospitals recognize that downtime on a piece of medical imaging equipment affects revenue generation, there is pressure to add BMETs to hospitals to ensure that every piece of medical imaging equipment is maintained in working order so that costly service contracts are used as minimally as they can be. The U.S. Department of Labor and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Imaging (AAMI) think that the number of jobs available as a BMET in the US will increase 24 percent to 31 percent up through the year 2010.

Not that long ago, BMETs were trained on the job. But, as equipment for medical imaging knowledge has advanced, so has the need for consistent, quality training. Now, most BMETs have obtained an Associates degree in medical imaging technology, electronics or an engineering-related field. Recently an experiment by the AAMI discovered that 62% of all BMETs journeyed on to voluntarily become certified by the International Commission on Accreditation. ICC Certification for BMETs is a formal recognition by the International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology (ICC) that candidates have shown excellence in theoretical as well as knowledge of the principles of biomedical technology.

The BMET job description keeps evolving and, as it changes, the educational requirements have started to increase also. The BMET profession has started to walk the trail of lots of other professions both in and out of the medical field where increasingly more schooling is required to serve in a job and/or excel inside a job category.

BMETs say that those who employ them are starting to make one have bachelors degrees for advancement to a higher rank or in some situations simply to be a BMET inside some institutions. While this requirement might limit the job options for few BMETs serving right now, the great news is that increased educational requirements creates the chance for greater salaries. Studies have determinedshown|found out} that entrance salaries for BMETs are from $20,000-$30,000. However, higher positions can command salaries as good as $80,000. The future appears bright for future salary growth in this field.

Honolulu's Varsity Theatre Closes Today After 68 Years

The Varsity Theatre is located at the corner of University Avenue and Coyne Street near the University of Hawaii (UH) campus. It opened in 1939 and is a one of the few reminders of an era that has passed.

The land parcel is 1.7 acres in size and owned by Kamehameha Schools, a charitable trust for children of Hawaiian ancestry. Kamehameha Schools has not disclosed what they intend to do with the property.

As a student at UH in the 1980's I used to watch movies at the Varsity Theatre periodically. It was within walking distance from campus housing and across the street from Buzz's Steak House, where I worked as a waiter.

Last night the TV news mentioned the closing of the Varsity Theatre with a brief history. Originally it was one large theatre and at one point it was converted into a twin. I thought it was interesting that Consolidated Theatres, operators of the theatre, only recalled that the conversion took place "sometime in the '80's. I do recall going to the theatre prior to the conversion, then it was closed for a short period, perhaps a week or two and reopened as a twin theatre. My recollection is that the conversion took place sometime between 1983-1985.

If you're on Oahu, consider catching a movie at the Varsity Theatre tonight. Checkout the neon lighted sign out front and old projectors on display in the lobby.

Last night we went to the Varsity and watched "Away from Her," a movie about a woman losing her mind to alzheimer's, and the problems she and her husband faced. It was different and interesting.

The Varsity Theatre is located in Moili'ili, a Honolulu neighborhood.

Zen Video Downloads

Soon after I began searching for Zen videos, I realized that there are really no sites out there that were actually dedicated to providing us Zen download lovers, with movies, videos, and music to download. So I decided to scour the internet in search of reliable Zen movie download sites. Well, my search has now finally been completed, and the results are quite disappointing. You see, there are two types of sites out there to download Zen media; I'll speak about these briefly.

Zen Movie Download Site 1 - Pay Per Download

Now, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that this can be very costly, and there are just not that many good Zen downloads available from these sites. If you are thinking about downloading Zen videos, or Zen movies than this type of site is out of the question. However, if you are just going to download a couple of cool MP3's that you heard on the radio, than this type of Zen download site would be a good choice.

Zen Video Download Site 2 - Unlimited Downloads

That's right, for a very reasonable price, you can download unlimited Zen movies, music, and videos. This is by far the best type of site to download Zen Vision movies or videos. The price is very reasonable usually around $35 and you get unlimited downloads, forever. No monthly fees, no pay per download, nothing. Once you sign up, you can get started immediately downloading Zen videos. You can continue to do this for the life of your Zen, without any more fees. Download as much as you want, whenever you want. There are over 2 million users of these sites and approximately 90 million files to choose from. You are sure to find all of the Zen downloads you ever wanted here.

Earlier I mentioned that only a select few Zen download sites are actually worth it. So I guess you're asking... "Where do I go to get the unlimited downloads!?" Well, why I didn't find many sites out there, this is the one that saved me from the greedy pay per download sites.

"Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End" Continues the Saga in Excellent Fashion, Savvy Mate?

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End – 4 Stars (Excellent)

What a relief! Like many of my fellow reviewers, I held my breath after "Dead Man's Chest" hoping installment three "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" would not be left in the chest with Davy Jones' disgusting, slimy beating heart.

Three could have gone in the dumper with the average performance of Priates two, but thankfully "At World's End" gets an excellent rating like the first Pirates' presentation "The Curse of the Black Pearl".

Dead Man's Chest got mixed reviews nationally as many reviewers could not tolerate a plot that was too convoluted to follow. Trust me when I say that At World's End was no better in that regard, but was far and away better as important story lines returned. Here are some:

1) The romance between Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightly) and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) resumed. Just looking at Keira Knightly in her finest can take your mind off of the troublesome story line. The relationship between the two was all but destroyed in "Dead Man's Chest".

2) Jack is back! The Curse of the Black Pearl had Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) front and center with all action revolving around him. Dead Man's Chest dimmed the spotlight on Captain Jack and eventually had him "killed" off at the end. At World's End brings Captain Jack Sparrow back front and center, where he should be as the focal point of this saga.

Pirates of the Caribbean begins and ends with Jack Sparrow, and if he is given a lesser role the story suffers.

3) The over-the-top sight gags in Dead Man's Chest (the sword fight in the giant wheel which went on far too long and the hanging baskets between the cliffs) put too much focus on production gimmicks rather than the characters. People make the story of Pirates, not gimmicks.

At World's End has swordfights aboard ship and cannons blowing ships apart, right on, this is a pirate story for cripes sake, not some ballet production on a ferris wheel.

Give someone credit for letting writers Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio tell the story without marching orders. I believe these two writers were pushed into throwing anything together to satisfy the immediate demand for a sequel that would dovetail into another sequel. Gore Verbinski directed all three movies.

Given how convoluted the story line is, here is the best synopsis of At World's End by J. Curcio (it certainly helps if you have seen the first two Pirate films):

"After Elizabeth Swann, Will Turner and Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) rescue Captain Jack Sparrow from the land of the dead (Davy Jones' locker), they must face their foes, Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) and Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander). Beckett, with control of Jones' heart, forms a dark alliance with Davy Jones in order to rule the seas and wipe out the last of the Pirates.

"Now, Jack, Barbossa, Will, Elizabeth, Tia Delma and crew must call the Pirate Lords from the four corners of the globe to a gathering to figure out how to release the goddess Calypso, Davy Jones' former lover, so she can come to their aid. Once Calypso is free, all of the Pirate Lords will stand together in their fight for freedom against Beckett, Jones, Norrington, the Flying Dutchman, and the entire East India Trading Company."

During the battle, Will proposes to Elizabeth who insists that Barbossa marry them immediately. When Davy Jones mortally wounds Will aboard the Dutchman, Jack places the sabre in Will's hand and helps him stab Davy Jones' heart in the Dead Man's Chest, thus killing Jones and making Will the Flying Dutchman's captain.

The crew cuts out Will's heart and places it in the Dead Man's Chest. Jack and Elizabeth escape before the ship is pulled into the whirlpool, but it quickly resurfaces with Will at the helm. Will captains the Flying Dutchman and Jack Sparrow captains the Black Pearl as they destroy Lord Cutler Beckett's ship, killing Beckett and causing his armada to retreat.

Although Will has been saved and the Dutchman crew has regained its humanity, Will must spend the next 10 years at sea ferrying souls to the next world. Will and Elizabeth spend one day together on an island to consummate their marriage, and Will entrusts Elizabeth with the Dead Man's Chest containing his heart.

The rest is simply too good to give away here. Do not make the mistake of leaving when the credits begin to roll as there is a bonus scene at the end of the credits that is critical to understanding where the movie is headed next.

There are too many secret alliances, turncoats, double-crosses and self-centered activities going on to detail them in this review. Suffice to saw that the action happens so quickly that the plot does become convoluted.

There was in fact an actual council of pirates at one time in history.

The 9 Pirate Lords portrayed in the film are:

Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow: Pirate Lord of the Caribbean Sea.

Geoffrey Rush as Hector Barbossa: Pirate Lord of the Caspian Sea.

Chow Yun-Fat as Captain Sao Feng: Pirate Lord of the South China Sea.

Takayo Fischer as Mistress Ching: Pirate Lady of the Pacific Ocean.

Hakim-Kae Kazim as Gentleman Jocard: Pirate Lord of the Atlantic Ocean.

Marcel Iures as Capitaine Chevalle: Pirate Lord of the Mediterranean Sea.

Ghassan Massoud as Ammand the Corsair: Pirate Lord of the Black Sea.

Marshall Manesh as Sri Sumbhajee: Pirate Lord of the Indian Ocean.

Sergio Calderon as Captain Villanueva: Pirate Lord of the Adriatic Sea.

The scenery is really outstanding in At World's End; some of the scenes were filmed during the filming of Dead Man's Chest so locations would not have to be revisited.

Keith Richards, who had been courted to appear in earlier Pirate films, agreed to appear as Jack Sparrow's father and keeper of the Pirate Code in At World's End.

When the Pirate's Code is brought out to settle a dispute, Barbossa refers to the code created by "Morgan and Bartholomew".

This is a reference to famous pirates Henry Morgan and Bartholomew "Black Bart" Roberts. Morgan was famous for sacking several impenetrable treasure towns, including Portobello, the Fort Knox of its day.

Black Bart was simply brutal without any conscience whatsoever, he killed and pillaged at will and was one of the pirates to develop a code of honor which his crew followed upon pain of death.

These are my favorite lines in the movie:

Will Turner: No cause is lost if but one fool is left to fight for it.

Barbossa: Dying is the day worth living for.

Barbossa: All men are drawn to the sea perilous though it may be.

Will Turner (when he gives Elizabeth the Dead Man's Chest with his beating heart in it): It was always yours . . . Will you keep it safe? (How is that for a romantic line, ladies?)

Cabin Boy: Yo ho, haul together, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars, never shall we die!

Among the locations in At World's End were the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, the dunes in Guadalupe (CA), Niagara Falls in New York, ocean battle scenes were located near Palmdale (CA) and sea sequences in Rancho Palos Verdes (CA).

At World's End runs 2 hours 47 minutes, 15 minutes longer than Dead Man's Chest and 30 minutes longer than Spider Man 3.

Despite its length, At World's End had the best Memorial Day Weekend opening ever, hauling in $142 million, and was second only to Spider Man 3's best opening weekend ever at $151 million. When you add in the international numbers, At World's End hauled in $332 million for the weekend.

At World's End rang up the most valuable haul among any pirate booty ever.

Want To Watch Movies On Your Psp

The Sony PSP was originally developed for playing cutting edge video games. This is what the PSP can do best. It has got superb display and sound quality and a media called UMD (Universal Media Disc) for mass storage. But besides playing games the developers had another cool application for the console in mind - Watching movies and video clips. The display of the PSP has the perfect wide-screen format to display current movies in their full wide-screen format. It turns out that the resolution of the PSP display is able to render movies in a quality that you normally wouldn't expect from a small device like this.

If you have even been on a flight were people left and right of you just watch the board movie you know how it is if you take you PSP and watch your favorite Star Trek episode. You know how good it feels to get all these envious looks. Some people may pretend they are not watching - others will openly ask you: 'Hey, I didn't know you could watch movies like that with a PSP - I bought this for my son but I thought it was just for video games.' So many times I have heard this or a similar statement. In general people are surprised by the quality of the image displayed by the PSP. If you hold the PSP in your hand you get a sufficient details level to enjoy an entire movie. There are two ways to watch movies on your PSP: One is to buy movies on UMDs. These are available in most electronic shops where they sell PSP games. The discs are even smaller than the old mini-CDs that the record industry tried to establish. However, you cannot buy all movies on UMD. Especially TV-series are not usually found on UMDs.

Also, if you already have your favorite movies at home on a DVD you don't want to buy them again. Especially since the price of a UMD can be even higher than the DVD. The second option that is very trendy right now is to download PSP movies from the net or convert your existing DVDs and transfer the movie to the PSP. Unfortunately UMDs are not writable so the only place where you can store a movie on a PSP is the memory stick. The memory stick was designed to hold saved games, but Sony quickly realized that people wanted to put all kinds of things on the PSP like music and videos. So now memory sticks with 1GB or more are easily available and affordable. For watching movie you should have a memory stick of at least 1GB. Anything smaller will not give you're the full length or quality for a movie. Fortunately there is software available that automatically converts a DVD into the right format and transfers it to the DVD.

Bad Movie Review - Cool as Ice

If ever there was a film deserving of the infamy of being included in a bad movie night, it is Cool as Ice. This portrait of the early nineties was Vanilla Ice's first and only starring role, and it's about as good as you would expect. The nonsensical tagline to the film, "How do you melt a heart of stone? Just add Ice" pretty much says it all. Of course, it arrived 2 minutes after Vanilla's 15 minutes were over, so it has languished on video for years, and is now developing into something of a cult hit for those who can appreciate how funny awesomely bad movies can be.

One interesting note of trivia: This is the first film for cinematographer Janus Kaminski, whose later credits include no less than Schindler's List. Wow. I guess we really do all have to start somewhere. On the other hand, this film effectively killed the career of director David Kellog, who waited 10 years for the laughter to die down before directing the probably equally terrible Inspector Gadget. Whoops.

Vanilla plays Johnny, leader of a super tough posse of biker rappers, who apparently go from town to town performing in warehouses where the lights hang at about knee level. This particular gang is so tough, that they don't even need helmets. Though, come to think of it, massive head trauma might actually explain a lot.

On the way to their next gig, or wherever it is they're actually going, the gang encounters the horseback riding heart of stone that Vanilla desires to melt with his, um, Ice. Of course it belongs to an uptight overachiever named Kathy, who clearly needs a little Vanilla in her life to spice things up. (I made that one up myself). Ice starts by nearly killing her with her own horse, which is about the most extreme pickup technique I've ever seen, and strangely enough, seems to work. Sure, she acts all annoyed and storms off, but as Vanilla notes:"Yup. Yup. She likes me". It's probably because she's sick of her possessive, walking cliché of a boyfriend Rick.

One of the gang has some mechanical failure on the way into town, so the posse ends up stuck at a hippy-trippy bike repair shop, run by some crazy old couple. Thankfully, they run the shop out of their house, which is oh so conveniently down the street from the perpetually smoky residence of Kathy and her parents.

Oh, and did I mention that her parents are in the witness protection program, and on the run from two thugs who apparently have nothing better to do than sit around and wait for Kathy's dad to appear on TV so they can track him down and extort money from him? It seems papa Kathy – played by Michael Gross in what was undoubtedly not a highlight of his career — was a cop who saw too much and ratted out some of his colleagues, who vowed revenge. It's really no wonder this guy left the force; he is without a doubt the worst cop in the history of law enforcement. His every instinct is completely wrong. He doesn't get anything right, or figure anything out throughout the entire film. I guess that's what he gets for trying to suppress his daughter's desire to Iceify her stony heart.

But at least Vanilla is cool right? His wardrobe alone is truly something to behold, (I wonder where he keeps all those clothes on his bike?) along with his strangely erect hair, and I think any film that includes a dead-serious Vanilla Ice spewing such lines as "Yo Kat. Some words of wisdom: Drop that zero and get with the hero" at least deserves a look. And I haven't even mentioned the scene where Vanilla single-handedly kicks the crap out of no less than five armed jocks who make the foolish mistake of messing with his homeboy's bike. He is equally delicate in his melting of Kathy's heart, which basically consists of him walking around with no shirt on, talking about how "if you're living life for someone else, you ain't living", and generally acting creepy and/or criminal. This is really just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many more priceless moments of unintentional hilarity to discover.

So why is this movie the pinnacle of bad-movie night cinema? It is because it is so clear that Vanilla and those involved in creating this film took it very, very seriously. This only accentuates further the laughable dialog, the ridiculous plot and the clichéd characters. Somehow the thought that someone actually thought this pile was going to be good makes it all the more unintentionally hilarious.

Finding this film on VHS on Ebay is about the only way you're going to be able to purchase it, though you can often still find it for rent at your local independent video store. Watch it with a group of friends while consuming your alcoholic beverage of choice.

Movie Review - George A Romero's Dawn of the Dead

"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth."

Such is the tagline of Dawn of the Dead, George A. Romero's seminal zombie film, and one of the finest horror films ever created. Made for less than one million dollars in 1978, it raised the bar both in terms of intelligent horror and sheer stomach turning gore. It is the sequel to Romero's first film, the classic Night of the Living Dead, taking place weeks after the original story. Humanity's fight against the ever-growing masses of the undead has not gone well, and the zombies seem on the verge of gaining the upper hand permanently. A small group of survivors: a TV director, a helicopter weather pilot, and two SWAT officers, steal the aforementioned helicopter to escape the chaos that is erupting in the city around them. They eventually find there way to an abandoned suburban shopping mall where they decide it is safe to hole up to wait out the storm.

While still a horror film, Dawn of the Dead differs greatly in tone from its predecessor. Night was a straight-ahead, dark, claustrophobic and very gritty horror film, whereas Dawn has more elements of an adventure, and the vast majority of the action takes place in the shiny, well lit sprawl of the mall. Romero himself describes the film as more of a "romp" than anything, and goes so far as to say that he's surprised by the fact that anyone is scared by it.

This is perhaps due to the strong element of satire infused in the film, as Romero comments on the futility of modern society's consumerist culture. The mindless zombies, drawn to the mall because it "was an important place in their lives" shuffle aimlessly around the building. All the while, annoying muzak plays in the background, interrupted only by a recording informing the recently deceased shoppers of the latest specials. It is not too much of a stretch to imagine a similar scene every occurring nearly every day with living breathing consumers. This theme extends throughout the film, and in the end, it is human greed, our desire for more "stuff", and our stubborn determination to hold on to what we have that is the undoing of the protagonists, not the zombies.

Despite the purveyance of satire throughout, the film is still pretty frightening. Besides the traditional horror jumps, which are numerous, Romero's depiction of a society on the verge of collapse is chilling, and the shambling unstoppable nature of the zombie hoards always creates a sense of dread. The nature of the zombies, and whatever it is that causes their re-animation is wisely left unexplained, adding to the sense of confusion and desperation. Only one thing is certain, the only way to stop them is to kill their brain, either by shooting them in the head, or bludgeoning them to a more permanent death.

The gore effects truly are spectacular, and do not look dated even by today's standards. They were created by Tom Savigny, who also worked with Romero on Night, and went on to become something of a gore effects king. Granted, the blood looks a little bit like melted crayons, but it enhances the campy nature of the film and prevents the level of gore from going too far.

The makeup on the other hand, though it was also handled by Savigny, leaves a little to be desired. The vast majority of the zombies were simply shambling extras with blue makeup on. Only a few of the zombie were giving additional gore effects. This is perhaps indicative of the extremely low budget of the film, and the time constraints that the crew was undoubtedly under. Romero compensates for this by making the zombies visually distinctive, and thus making them into individuals. Some of these shambling characters include the overacting nurse zombie, the business suit zombie, and of course the Hare Krishna zombie.

The performances, all by unknown, and largely unproven actors are uneven, but generally acceptable in the context of this film. Romero is well known for his dislike of working with stars.

These downsides do little to diminish the quality of this fine film. It is one of the most intelligent, well made films of it's type, and is just as much a legitimate classic as it's predecessor. I encourage anyone who is, or wants to be, a fan of cinematic horror, or films in general to give Dawn of the Dead a look.

Soundtracks

Soundtracks are commonly referred to as music used in a movie or television show. In the movie industry, it is an audio recording created or used in film or movie productions. It may also refer to the music used in video games and this is called video game soundtracks. There is also book sound track. One popular book soundtrack is for J.R.R Tolkien's The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Trilogy and was composed by Craig Russell. For short, soundtracks refer to all audio components whether in television, movies, video games and books.

In creating a soundtrack for a movie you must consider the theme and plot to synchronize the sound and scene of the movie. Also consider employing popular music artist to drive more attention to the people.

A soundtrack album is composed of original songs and sometimes of existing ones. These are sold in the form of CD recording. With soundtracks, a scene is improved together with visual effects. One of he most well-known and bestselling song in a soundtrack is performed by Celine Dion in the movie 'Titanic' with the lead single of 'My Heart Will Go On'.

The major component of the sound track is usually called the musical scores. Besides owning certain movie DVDs, I also collect my favorite sound tracks of my favorite movies, composed by my favorite composers. They are James Horner, Alan Silvestri, Patrick Doyle, Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newman, John Barry, Rachel Portman, John Williams, Howard Shores and many more.

DVD Movie Rental Offers

DVD movie rental offers are all over the place these days. In fact, there's never been a better time for us consumers to take advantage of the amazing deals going on right now, as the various video and DVD chains compete with each other to get our attention - and our custom.

First let's have a look at the type of DVD movie rental offers around. Well, they're all basically doing the same thing: offering you the choice of all of their great stock and providing you with the easiest means of access to that large stock of movies at the smallest possible cost to you.

Variations do exist, but the offers are essentially the same. Let's have a look in detail at the attributes of each element within the offer.

Firstly, the promise of a large choice of movies. Certainly, the leading suppliers of movies to be watched and enjoyed at home can offer a huge abundance, not only of movies, but of different types and genres of movies. Every taste is catered for. Whether you are a fan of black and white classic cinema or if you're the type of persona who just has to have an opinion about the latest action movie or the latest hot releases, there'll be something for you. The best DVD movie rental offers will let you choose between comedy, romance, historical and even documentary films. Advocates leaning toward a more classical disposition will appreciate being able to choose between all of Shakespeare's plays any night of the week.

That deals with the shear number of movies and types of movies available. But what about the access? The easiest way to get movies is to have them delivered to your door on a regular basis that you stipulate. This is easier than even going to pick them up personally (although some people would say they enjoy a good browse around when they get to the store). Having movies delivered to you make sense in a world where most of us have busy lives. The large chains who make these DVD movie rental offers do so with this in mind. In a society which increasingly differentiates business from pleasure, this is not an unreasonable assumption.

Lastly there's the question of cost. There are some DVD movie rental offers out there that will give you a whole month for nothing but just a nominal charge for the shipping over the whole month. Theoretically, that means you could order a different movie every day over a month and arrange for the movies you've seen to be posted back at no extra cost.

One thing is certain. Whenever the large chains are in competition with each other it puts us, the consuming public, in the driving seat. We get to call the shots. There are some fantastic DVD movie rental offers available right now, and we have only to pick the best of the bunch that suits our own particular lifestyle.

Luke Skywalker Character - Balance to the One

Luke Skywalker is one of the most important characters in the Starwars saga. The actor who would portray this key person in the films is Mark Hamill. In the episodes of Starwars about Luke we find that he has a constant struggle to face. Finding the good path is really not all that faced Skywalker. Instead it was about finding the path that would lead him to restoring balance to the force. For such a young person, with limited education in the ways of the force, this would present inner conflict.

Ultimately the greatest challenge that Luke had to face involved his own family. His desire to regain his father, Anakin who became the great villain Darth Vader, was as strong as his own father's desire to bring him to his side. Facing up to this unavoidable path for the two characters in the trilogy would fuel the curiosity of the series.

Other personas would play a key role in molding Luke Skywalker into the hero he would become. Trusted to watch over Luke and shadow the child would become the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi or otherwise known to Luke as Old Ben. Obi-Wan would be key to introducing Luke to the ways of the force and giving him his father's jedi weapon - the lightsaber.

And then there is Yoda. Yoda, while not trusting the progeny of Anakin Skywalker, took on the challenge of training the young adult Luke. He eventually on his death bed would reveal to Luke that his father is the menace of the galaxy, Vader.

While Anakin was destined to bring balance to the force in reality it was Luke who would bring balance to the one who would.

Reality TV - Which Existence Would You Choose?

Over the past several years, reality TV has gained much popularity among television viewers all over the globe. The nature of this type of television has been evolving for quite some time, with the existence of court TV, and the development of a number of shows seeking the next big entertainer. Now, there is a reality show that is sure to suit almost any interest and commandeer the attention of a loyal fan base. These shows are fun to watch and interesting to follow; but what if you had the opportunity to actually participate in one?

When raised, this question congers up many images. Many people choose to watch a particular reality show because it coincides with their interests, but when it comes to participation, there is more that must be factored in that interest alone. First, you would want to find a show that you could directly relate to, and meet with at least some success. For example, if you are not a singer, you would not want to seriously audition for a show designed to find the next pop star. The idea is usually to win, so that is what you should set out to do.

Still, choosing a reality show could be difficult. People learn from watching others, and what better way to become familiar with a show and all it entails than to watch and see how it works. The key is to find a show you would enjoy, since remaining on it will take up a lot of your time. Find something that allows you to use your skills and personal attributes. This is important because you will most likely be competing for something. Everyone else around you will carry that same mentality, so it really does become a matter of survival of the fittest.

While reality shows are fun, you're really in it to win. You will want your face to be the one people will look forward to seeing every week, so choose a show where you can really excel. Your choices are numerous and diverse, so you should have no problem finding a show that will suit you. The opportunities are endless. The beauty is that often times you will have the chance to repeat your performance the following year should you not make it to the end of the season. No matter which show you choose, have fun. If you are enjoying your performance, the audience will pick up on that, and it will go far to enhance your ratings.

Best Movie Lines Ever!

When I was a kid, I played outside for hours and read more books than most people read in a lifetime. Yet somehow I still had time to watch TV. My step-father had an insane movie collection, and I collected more than a few favorites, which I watched over and over again. In fact, when he and my mom divorced, I may have missed the movies more than I missed the man! Curious, I looked up the American Film Institute's top 100 movie quotes. What I found was startling.

Three of the quotes, including the number one on the list, came from "Gone With the Wind". Two of those three were delivered by Scarlett O'Hara herself.

Three more came from "The Wizard of Oz," two of those delivered by Dorothy.

But topping the list in number of quotes was "Casablanca" at six, twice as many as these two!

Somewhat surprisingly, the Godfather, Terminator, and Bond series each sported only two quotes, one for each flick.

Thirty-six of the movies were shot in 1950 or before. Rather impressive for the old black and whites! Somewhat surprisingly, only one – "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" – was shot after 2000. However, the more recent movies are closer to the bottom of the list than the top.

Bogart flicks had a surprisingly high number of lines. In addition to "Casablanca", "To Have and Have Not" and "The Maltese Falcon" also made the list. Tom Hanks delivered three lines – one from "Forrest Gump," one from "Apollo 13," and one from "A League of Their Own." Tom Cruise flicks hit four lines, although only two were delivered by Cruise himself (two from "Jerry McGuire", one from "Top Gun," and one from "A Few Good Men). Two lines were delivered by Jack Nicholson – "A Few Good Men" and "The Shining." It's interesting to see what actors pop up the most.

Both instances of profanity came in movies filmed before 1970. See what happens when you don't swear for fun?

Only one alien line in the movie, spoken by E.T. Dorothy talked to her dog for one line, and there was a nonhuman cooing over Precious, but overall, most of the lines were given in human conversation.

Many of the folks who delivered these lines are still making movies today.

One of the lines was unscripted – Dustin Hoffman's "I'm walking here!" from "Midnight Cowboy" was completely improved and yet made the list.

There you go, just a few stats on some of the greatest lines in movie history. Be warned – as you read over the list, you may hear some of the actors delivering these lines in your head!

Film Terms: Gaffer

Head electrician responsible for the design and execution of lighting on a set. In charge of all lighting personnel. (The term "gaffer's tape" is derived from this term. Gaffer's tape is a bit like duct tape, but don't use them interchangeably! Unlike duct tape, gaffer's tape is designed not to leave a sticky residue behind. It's used to tape film magazines so no light leaks in, hold cables together or secure them to the ground, mark studio floors, etc.)
